Advanced method for the treatment and the tritium recovery from tritiated water

A process for the detritiation of tritium enriched water comprising performing a combined electrolysis catalytic exchange process which is a combination of a liquid phase catalyst exchange process and an electrolysis of the water, a water distillation, a vapour phase catalytic exchange process, a tritium recovery process, and optionally a second liquid phase catalyst exchange process with at least a part of the exhaust product of step iv) and a device for forming detritiation of tritium enriched water.
