The present invention relates to a method for controlling a wind turbine connected to a three-phase electrical supply network during an asymmetric network fault. Likewise, the present invention relates to a trained for carrying out the method wind turbine. In particular, the method is designed for wind turbines with a double-fed asynchronous generator. In the method according to the invention, depending on the mains voltage, the reactive current to be fed in is generated in the negative sequence by the network-side and the rotor-side converter in a coordinated manner. Furthermore, in the method according to the invention, the reactive current to be fed into the electrical supply network is distributed to the rotor-side and network-side converter. As a result, the reactive current to be fed in can be provided even with strongly asymmetrical network faults and an excessive load of the rotor-side converter can be prevented by simple means.
