Embodiments relate to a concept for enabling random access of a wireless device to a wireless multicarrier communication system. It is provided, by the wireless device, an uplink random access signal (310) associated with a queuing system, the uplink random access signal (310) comprising a random access request portion (311) for a sending random access request and a message portion (312) for sending a data message. The random access request portion and the message portion extend over a plurality of time symbols and a plurality of uplink subcarriers. It is provided, by the communication network and in response to the uplink random access signal (310), a downlink signal (340) associated with the queuing system, the downlink signal (340) comprising a feedback signal portion (342) for providing feedback on a request queue and/or a data message queue of the queuing system. The feedback signal portion (342) extends over a plurality of time symbols and a plurality of downlink subcarriers.
