The invention concerns a method for the classification, cataloging and tracking of goods of value, in particular, works of art, the type in which there is an initial stage of access to each individual work to be classified and the collection of information on characteristics of the work.;The method is articulated in a series of steps, in order:- Define the characteristics of the work under examination as enunciate;- Elaborate such enunciates to confer them an ordering;- Assign to each enunciate a classification and / or a category of belonging;- Group and merge the enunciates that belong to the same classification and / or category of belonging between themselves, with the definition of an axiom;- Define areas of compatibility of these axioms with further definition of correlations and / or relational pointers between the axioms;- Storing enunciates, axioms and their relational pointers in a storage media accessible by electronic means;- Prepare parameters and instruments of computerized research that enable computer to retrieve automatically information regarding the work of interest.
