PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent damage of a furnace wall by removing repeated heat stress generated in the furnace wall upon drop of slag in a coal gasification furnace or the like.;SOLUTION: A protector of a furnace wall of a slag hopper of a combustion furnace includes a protective wall provided inside the furnace wall so as to cover at least a part of the furnace wall.
