PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface modification method of cast iron capable of producing a FeAl intermetallic compound layer excellent in oxidation resistance, easily with excellent adhesion on the surface of a substrate comprising cast iron; and to provide surface-modified cast iron obtained by the method.;SOLUTION: In a surface modification method of cast iron by aluminizing, after removing graphite on a substrate surface part by applying a mechanical treatment to the surface of the substrate comprising cast iron, a coating layer of Al or an Al alloy is formed on the surface of the substrate.;SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1;COPYRIGHT: (C)2016,JPO&INPIT
