PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a repair method of an existing valve capable of facilitating repair and stopping water leakage, in a case where water leakage occurs from a shaft seal part.SOLUTION: In a repair method of an existing valve subjected to opening/closing operation with an operation machine 5, when water leakage occurs from a shaft seal part 15 of a valve rod 10 penetrating a valve box 2, the operation machine 5 is removed from the tip part of the valve rod 10 to expose the tip part of the valve rod 10, a water stop member 41 for repair is externally fitted to the tip part of the valve rod 10, the operation machine 5 is attached to the tip part of the valve rod 10, and water leakage passing the shaft seal part 15 is cut off at the water stop member 41 for repair.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
