PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust turbocharger, a main engine, and a ship capable of suppressing the formation of dew condensation in a motor-generator and appropriately actuating the motor-generator.SOLUTION: An exhaust turbocharger comprises: a compressor 21 and a turbine 22 coaxially coupled to each other; a motor-generator 32 coupled to an axial end of the compressor 21; a space heater 60 generating heat in response to supply of a current to a coil 66 of a stator 62 of the motor-generator 32; a rotational speed sensor 54 detecting a rotational speed of the motor-generator 32; and a control unit 5 stopping the space heater 60 if the rotational speed of the motor-generator 32 that has been detected by the rotational speed sensor 54 exceeds a preset, specified rotational speed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
