PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a breaking device capable of easily and securely performing attachment of a breaking blade.SOLUTION: A breaking device for breaking a brittle material substrate by bringing a breaking blade into contact with the brittle material substrate, includes a cartridge for the breaking blade attachable to/detachable from the breaking device in a state in which the breaking blade is fixed and held.
