PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cubic boron nitride polycrystalline material having excellent toughness.SOLUTION: The cubic boron nitride polycrystalline material comprises: particulate cubic boron nitride in a granular state having a maximum particle diameter of 100 nm or less and an average particle diameter of 70 nm or less; and at least one of planar cubic boron nitride in a planar state having an average major diameter of 50 nm or more and 10000 nm or less and coarse particulate cubic boron nitride in a granular state having a minimum particle diameter of more than 100 nm and an average particle diameter of 1000 nm or less.SELECTED DRAWING: None
