PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To find a method for manufacturing local microstructures having uniform characteristics concerning high surface quality, especially uniform nucleation and crystallization in an unprocessed glass or glass ceramics.SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing an unprocessed glass product or a glass product comprises at least the steps of: preparing a sheet-like starting glass having the composition of the unprocessed glass without using a mold; supporting the starting glass; heating partial regions of the starting glass so as to obtain a starting glass viscosity of 10-10dPa/s and have a starting glass viscosity of 10dPa/s or more in a place where the starting glass is supported; deforming the heated starting glass by the action of an external force until a predetermined shape of the starting glass is obtained; and optionally converting the unprocessed glass into glass ceramics by subsequent formation into ceramics.SELECTED DRAWING: None
