A system hosted on a computer and configured to manage field devices is provided. The system includes a configuration server configured to execute a system level configuration application in response to a first type of interface specification standard. The configuration server manages (i) at least one of the field devices according to a first type interface specification standard and (ii) another of the field devices according to a second type interface specification standard. . The system further includes a graphical user interface (GUI) configured to display data associated with the at least one field device when the at least one field device is selected.
