PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel feathery cotton material which has a voluminous feeling, is bulky, is without any odor peculiar to an animal, is excellent in washing characteristics, is excellent in heat retaining properties and heat insulation properties, is capable of being formed light-weight, and is artificially produced into a form imitating a natural feather, and to provide a futon housing a bundle of the feathery cotton material.SOLUTION: A feathery cotton material bundle 121 is obtained by bundling a feathery cotton material 1 having a form in which filaments of an axial yarn 2 and a float yarn 3 made of a polyester-based raw yarn are mutually bound, entangled and connected by an air entanglement in an air scattering atmosphere and integrated so as to have down ball-like lumps connected in a line with an interval therebetween in a prescribed length and sewing and fixing both ends respectively with a cloth material 122. The futon is obtained by housing the feathery cotton material bundles 121 in a housing fabric formed with a face cloth and a lining cloth so as to be arranged vertically, horizontally and crisscross and confronting and sealing edge parts of the face cloth and the lining cloth with the cloth material 122 of the feathery cotton material bundles 121 to made a quilt form.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1(c)
