The device is configured to implement a method of wireless communication in a wireless communication network. The method includes receiving a device-to-device (D2D) subframe configuration for communicating with one or more second wireless devices from the communication controller, the subframe configuration transmitting a D2D signal, or 1 1 shows one or more subframes for receiving one or more D2D signals. The method also includes receiving scheduling information from the communication controller for transmitting the first signal to the communication controller on the subframe indicated by the D2D subframe configuration. The method further includes prioritizing transmission of the first signal over transmission of the D2D signal, or reception of one or more D2D signals, and transmitting the first signal.
