PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a partial discharge position locating method and a partial discharge position locating apparatus capable of precisely locating a position where a partial discharge occurs on an electric power equipment.SOLUTION: The partial discharge position locating method includes the steps of: detecting an electromagnetic wave caused by a partial discharge occurred in a tank by three or more sensors which are disposed in the vicinity of a flange or piping provided on the outer periphery of the tank of a power apparatus which is filled with an insulation medium; transmitting a signal of the electromagnetic wave detected by the sensors via plural cables each of which is connected to the sensor and has generally the same electric length locating the position where the partial discharge occurs by a measurement section connected to the plural cables based on a difference in arrival time of the signals.
