PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface treatment method of composite material, a joint structure, a surface treatment unit for composite material, and joint processing unit where improvement of adhesive strength and stability of the composite material is achieved.SOLUTION: The surface treatment method of composite material includes: an uneven surface forming processing step (a first step (S-11)) for forming an uneven surface 14 on a surface of a joint surface of a composite material; and a plasma treatment step (a second step (S-12)) for introducing a hydrophilic functional group to the surface of the uneven surface 14 by applying an atmospheric pressure plasma treatment to the joint surface on which the uneven surface is formed. Thus, a surface treated composite material 10A is made by forming a hydrophilic functional group introduced part 19 by introducing the hydrophilic functional group to the surface of the uneven surface 14. After that, by a third step (S-13), an adhesive layer 22 is formed by applying an adhesive agent on the joint surface of the surface treated composite material 10A on which the joint surface 11a is processed, then a jointed material 21 and the surface treated composite material 10A are bonded with the adhesive layer 22 to make a joint structure 20A.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
