Optical pumping magnetometer and magnetic force measuring method

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pumping magnetometer capable of reducing optical intensity noise of probe light and separating and reducing noise characterized by inverse of a frequency in a low frequency region.;SOLUTION: The optical pumping magnetometer uses electron spin or nuclear spin of an atom and comprises: a cell containing an alkali metal atom group therein; a probe light optical system making probe light including a linear polarization component incident to the cell; modulation means for modulating an angle of a polarization plane of the probe light; and a detector detecting a change in the angle of the polarization plane of the probe light passing through the cell. The modulation means can perform rectangular wave shaped modulation on the angle of the polarization plane of the probe light. The detector has: a polarization separating element; and a difference circuit for obtaining a light intensity difference between the components separated by the polarization separating element.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2014,JPO&INPIT
