PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a bearing ring, enabling a manufacturing cost of a hardening device to be suppressed and furthermore enabling a hardening hardened layer to be uniformly formed along a rolling contact surface over whole circumference by induction hardening.SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing a bearing ring of a rolling bearing includes a step (S10) of preparing a formed body composed of a steel containing, 0.43 to 0.65% of carbon, 0.15 to 0.35% of silicon, 0.60 to 1.10% of manganese, 0.30 to 1.20% of chromium and 0.15 to 0.75% of molybdenum and the balance iron with impurities, a step (S30) of forming an annular heating area which is heated at a temperature of the Apoint or more in the formed body by rotating an induction heating member which is arranged to face a part of an annular area to be a rolling contact surface of a bearing ring in the formed body and induction- heating the formed body, relatively along a circumferential direction of the annular area, and a step (S40) of cooling whole heating area to a temperature of Mpoint or less at the same time.
