Disclosed is a stain resistant filtration membrane comprising a polymer thin film membrane comprising a surface. Also disclosed is a method of modifying a thin film membrane filtration membrane, thereby improving, for example, the antifouling properties of the membrane. Also disclosed is a method of purifying water using the disclosed membrane.
