PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress generation of a large step on a pavement at a boundary between a structure such as a bridge abutment and a banking part in a road even when the banking part subsides largely due to earthquake or the like, and to allow vehicles to at least temporarily pass by.;SOLUTION: A base course 3 is formed on a backfill soil 4 on the rear side of a reinforced-concrete bridge abutment 1, and an asphalt mixture layer 6 with a height substantially equal to that of the top end of the bridge abutment 1 is formed on the base course 3. Furthermore, a pavement 5 is formed thereon continuously from the top of the bridge abutment to the banking part 14. An end of the asphalt mixture layer on the bridge abutment side is fixed to the bridge abutment by fixing means 20. Moreover, a net-like strengthening member 7 to which strip-shaped steel plates 8 are fixed on its lower edge is embedded in the asphalt mixture layer near its bottom surface, and strengthens the asphalt mixture layer. The steel plates are arranged such that the long axis direction thereof extends along the axis line of the road, and each steel plate is fixed to the strengthening member at a plurality of positions in its long axis direction.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2014,JPO&INPIT
