PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an enzyme for degrading chondroitin sulfate, having high specificity of reaction to the chondroitin sulfate.SOLUTION: The enzyme for degrading the chondroitin or the chondroitin sulfate has an amino acid sequence of the following (a), (b) or (c): (a): an amino acid sequence of accession number AAA81587; (b): a partial amino acid sequence of the amino acid sequence (a); (c): an amino acid sequence encoded by a DNA hybridizing with a DNA encoding the amino acid sequence (a) or the partial amino acid sequence (b) under a stringent condition.
