PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal print head which has good thermal responsiveness and achieves excellent printing characteristics and a substrate for the thermal print head, and to provide a manufacturing method of the thermal print head and a manufacturing method of the substrate for the thermal print head.;SOLUTION: A thermal print head 1 described as one example of a thermal print head, to which the invention is applied, has: a substrate 2; a heat accumulation layer 3; a conductor layer 4; a heat resistor 5; and a protection layer 6.
