PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a beam splitter which solves the problem that a wedge type beam splitter has a suppression effect on optical interference by a multiple reflection, but a yield in manufacturing it as a component is poor, and even when used as a component responsible for a function such as a wavelength locker and the like, since the wedge type beam splitter requires a fine mounting position adjustment or the like, it have been obstacle to reduce not only a component price but also a price of the device and the like by increasing a complication/complexity of the fabrication steps of a device/unit/entire device and decreasing a yield thereof, and further, a parallel plate type beam splitter of a conventional art cannot avoid an influence of internal multiple reflection light.;SOLUTION: A parallel plate type beam splitter that is compact and expected to be a low price is focused. A geometrical optical design is used to adjust a thickness of the parallel plate type beam splitter and a shape of a side face thereof. A fabricable minimum shape is proposed, by which light reflected inside the beam splitter is absorbed and diffused, an influence due to interference and the like affecting original transmitted light or reflected light is decreased, and both low pricing and miniaturization are attained.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2015,JPO&INPIT
