PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an index for properly reproducing a body odor which is an odor generated from a surface of human skin, and objectively evaluating the odor, and means for properly and objectively evaluating a deodorization effect of body odor of a cosmetic, perfume, and a cleaner with simple operation.;SOLUTION: Provided is a screening method of a body odor inhibitor for inhibiting body odor generation, resulting from an index agent for body odor determination containing diacetyl, comprising the steps of: cultivating microbe having a diacetyl production function at a culture medium including a test substance and precursor of the diacetyl; determining whether the test substance inhibits diacetyl generation, by measuring a number of the microbe and/or an amount of the diacetyl on the acquired culture; and selecting the test substance for inhibiting diacetyl generation as a body odor inhibitor.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2015,JPO&INPIT
