PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a profile creation device that can create a color conversion profile enabling accurate color reproduction printing.SOLUTION: There is provided a profile creation method for interpolating lattice points of a lookup table to create a color conversion profile for an image forming apparatus that selectively performs processing for reducing the total amount of use of color material of an input color value in which the total amount of use of the color material exceeds a preset amount, so as to form images. The method includes: a step S102 of determining whether or not the point of the input color value in which the total amount of use of the color material becomes the preset amount is present between the two adjacent lattice points of the lookup table; and a step S103 of calculating, if it is determined that the point of the input color value becoming the preset amount is present between the two lattice points, an output color value between interpolation points set between the two lattice points by a predetermined polynomial interpolation method of performing interpolation calculation using the output color value of the two lattice points, as well as an output color value of lattice points other than the two lattice points.
