PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently optimize a structure sectional shape when determining the structure sectional shape using a computer.SOLUTION: A computer determines deformed shapes in a plurality of intrinsic vibration modes of a reference structure model as a first basement sectional shape, and further sets to a reference structure sectional shape of the reference structure model a first region determining the structure sectional shape by fixing a part in the reference structure sectional shape and a second region determining the structure sectional shape by using the deformed shape in an intrinsic vibration mode of a structure when the deformation of the part in the reference structure sectional shape is restricted. The computer further creates a second basement sectional shape by using the deformed shape in the second region and the structure sectional shape determined in the first region. Thereafter, weighting addition is performed on a deformed portion of the first basement sectional shape and a deformed portion of the second basement sectional shape, a trial sectional shape of the structure cross section is created. The trial sectional shape is used to optimize the structure sectional shape.
