A novel amino-triazolyl-body pi compound library is described. Certain compounds in the library function as selective fluorescent probes for human serum albumin (HSA) and first generation live neurons. Fluorescent probes for HSA have also been demonstrated to be the only useful probes for agents that bind only to and specifically to fatty acid site 1 of HSA, thereby binding to such sites of HSA. A method for synthesizing library compounds is also described.
