The present invention relates to a specific methylation biomarker to the exposure of lower aliphatic saturated aldehydes, and a detection method using the same and, more specifically, to a lower aliphatic saturated aldehydes specific methylation marker gene, in which a promoter part of a specific gene is commonly methylated by the lower aliphatic saturated aldehydes, and a method for providing information for confirming whether the lower aliphatic saturated aldehydes are exposed by using the same. The methylation marker of the present invention is used for monitoring and determining the exposure of the lower aliphatic saturated aldehydes accurately and rapidly in comparison with a normal method, by using the biomarker with a methylated promoter part of a response gene selected through a DNA methylation micro array chip. The methylation marker can be used as a tool for identifying toxic mechanism of action generated by the lower aliphatic saturated aldehydes.
