Partial update method of the shell plate of towers and vessels

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the partial renewal construction method of a shell plate of a tower tank capable of efficiently performing a renewal work while maintaining necessary strength, and shortening a construction period.;SOLUTION: Before a cylindrical shell plate section 2 is partially cut and removed in a circumferential direction to form a square arcuate plate-shaped opening 6, a reinforcement member 200 is attached by welding to the lateral side of the opening 6 on the external surface of a shell plate 1 for reinforcement. The reinforcement member 200 is constituted of: upper and lower reinforcement plates 202 and 202 respectively fixed by welding to the slanting outside vicinity of the upper and lower corners of the opening 6; and a vertical member 204 extended in a vertical direction with both ends fixed by welding to the upper surfaces of those upper and lower reinforcement plates 202 and 202, and fixed by welding to the shell plate 1. Afterwards, only the vertical member 204 of the reinforcement member 200 is removed such that the reinforcement plates 202 and 202 remain.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2014,JPO&INPIT
