PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safe gramineous plant extract with less adverse effect and cholesterol efflux promoting ability .SOLUTION: There is provided a gramineous plant extract having cholesterol efflux promoting ability which is extracted from a gramineous plant by using alcohol such as ethanol, which preferably contains alkylresorcinol. The gramineous plant is wheat or rye preferably, and wheat bran is exemplified as an example of an extraction source. There is also provided a medical drub or a food/drink containing gramineous plant extract of the present invention.
