PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for recovering iron group elements and rare-earth elements, by which the iron group elements and the rare-earth element are selectively separated and recovered, and to provide an apparatus for recovering the iron group elements and the rare-earth elements, which can be used in the recovery method.SOLUTION: A method for recovering iron group elements and rare-earth elements includes: a process A1 comprising immersing a member M1 containing iron group elements and rare-earth elements into a first aqueous solution 12 and then performing an acid dissolution treatment; a process A2 comprising immersing a member M2 passing through the process A1 into a second aqueous solution 15 and then performing a metal salt synthesis treatment; a process A3 comprising immersing a member M3 passing through the process A2 into a choline-like ionic liquid 23 and recovering the iron group elements from the choline-like ionic liquid 23 by using an electrolytic deposition method; and a process A4 for recovering the rare-earth elements from the choline-like ionic liquid 23 passing through the process A3 by using an electrolytic deposition method. The method uses, as the choline-like ionic liquid 23, a choline-like ionic liquid containing choline being a naturally derived compound or an aliphatic quaternary ammonium cation composed of a choline derivative.
