PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preserving method for obtaining animals and plants or cultural artifacts (hereinafter referred to as animals and plants or the like) preservable over a long period in which solidified matters after preserving treatment have a more dense structure and are not influenced by moisture, outside temperature or the like even in an ordinary temperature state, and conditions before the preserving treatment are not changed.;SOLUTION: A preserving method includes: a step 1 of immersing animals and plants or the like into a water-soluble solvent made of 1 to 4C straight chain or branched alcohol and replacing the impregnated water of the animals and plants or the like with the water-soluble solvent; a step 2 of immersing the animals and plants or the like impregnated with the water-soluble solvent into a poorly water-soluble solvent obtained by adding water-insoluble aliphatic glycol to higher alcohol essentially composed of saturated alcohol having a melting point of 50 to 70°C, and replacing the impregnated water-soluble solvent of the animals and plants or the like with the poorly water-soluble solvent; and a step 3 of solidifying the animals and plants or the like impregnated with the poorly water-soluble solvent.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
