PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To purify perfluorobutane sulfonyl fluoride to provide highly pure perfluorobutane sulfonyl fluoride free from perfluorosulfolane.;SOLUTION: The perfluorobutane sulfonyl fluoride is characterized in that the content of perfluorosulfolane is ≤100 ppm based on mass. The potassium perfluorobutane sulfonate salt is characterized in that the content of potassium 1,1,2,2,3,3,4,4-octafluorobutane sulfonate salt is ≤100 ppm based on mass.
