PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filtering material and an air filter unit having dust collecting property and deodorizing performance and flame retardancy in addition.SOLUTION: An air filter filtering material for an air cleaner comprises a laminated body comprising: a supporting layer comprising a nonwoven fabric arranged in an upstream side of air; and a collecting layer comprising an electret melt blow nonwoven fabric arranged in a downstream of air, wherein the supporting layer satisfies the following conditions. (a) The supporting layer contains a deodorizing component mainly containing activated charcoal, flame retardant component of phosphorous system and/or boron system. (b) An average pore size is in the range of 100 to 180 μm.
