PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mounting component inspection device and a method which allow an inexperienced operator to promptly understand a cause and take steps when inspection results indicating mounting failure are consecutively shown in one component mounting position.;SOLUTION: When an operator selects a plot mark P displayed on a component mounting position map 79, a mounting failure detailed image 83 is displayed on a touch panel 64. At the time of the display, whether or not a decision rate of mounting failure exceeds a predetermined threshold is determined for each component mounting position and the words "estimated failure cause: imperfect disposition of lower receiving pins" are displayed when it is determined that the decision rate of mounting failure exceeds the threshold.
