PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic key system, an electronic key registration system, and an electronic key registration method, configured to eliminate the time and effort in registering electronic key information onto an in-vehicle unit, while preventing cost increase.;SOLUTION: Information is transmitted by a radio wave between an electronic key and an in-vehicle unit to control the drive of predetermined in-vehicle equipment. The electronic key transmits information with a predetermined transmission frequency toward the in-vehicle unit during information transmission. The in-vehicle unit has frequency change permission information for indicating whether to permit the change of the frequency to be used in receiving the information transmitted from the electronic key. The in-vehicle unit changes, when an electronic key for permitting the drive of the predetermined in-vehicle equipment is registered, the frequency to be used by the in-vehicle unit for receiving the information transmitted from the electronic key, to a predetermined transmission frequency to be used by the electronic key for transmitting the information to the in-vehicle unit, on the basis of the frequency change permission information of the electronic key.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
