PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a steering angle of a rear wheel by a device having a simple mechanical structure while suppressing manufacturing cost.;SOLUTION: A steering angel detecting device 12 detects a state that a vehicle travels straight on the basis of an output of a yaw rate sensor 42 and the like. The steering angle detecting device 12 detects the direction of acceleration generated by the traveling of the vehicle on the basis of an output of an acceleration sensor 43 or the like. When a state that the vehicle travels straight is detected, the steering detecting device 12 outputs an angle formed between the direction of the detected acceleration and the front direction of the vehicle as the steering angle of a rear wheel. Since the acceleration sensor 43 or the like does not have to be mechanically connected to a steering mechanism of the rear wheel, the mechanical structure of the steering angle detecting device 12 can be simplified. Most of various systems the vehicle has are mainly provided with the acceleration sensor 43 or the like. By using the existing acceleration sensor 43 or the like, the manufacturing cost of the steering angle detecting device 12 is suppressed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
