PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an annealing method and an annealing furnace for a metal strip coil, capable of preventing winding tightness during a cooling process in annealing to suppress occurrence of a defect.;SOLUTION: An annealing method of a metal strip coil comprises: lining, in a vertical direction, the central axis O of the metal strip coil 1 formed by winding a metal strip and arranging the metal strip coil 1 in an annealing furnace; covering the metal strip coil 1 with an inner case; heating the metal strip coil 1 by radiant heat from the inner case; and enhancing cooling capability of a cooling body 3 to the inside from the outside in a coil radius direction to cool the metal strip coil when the cooling body 3 arranged to face at least one of the edge surfaces of the metal strip coil 1 cools the metal strip coil, in cooling and annealing of the metal strip coil 1.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2014,JPO&INPIT
