PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress power consumption in an image display terminal having a touch panel.SOLUTION: An image display terminal includes a control unit that performs processing including the steps of: detecting the number of fingers in contact with the image display terminal (S510); determining whether an attitude of the image display terminal is horizontal or vertical when the detected number of fingers is four or less (S520); extracting coordinates of an ineffective area from an ineffective area storage unit when the attitude of the image display terminal is vertical (S530); turning on a power source of the entire screen other than the ineffective area (S540); and turning on the entire screen of a touch panel when the detected number of fingers is five or the attitude of the image display terminal is horizontal (S550).
