PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a word recognizing device, a word recognizing program, and a paper sheet processing device provided with the word recognizing device for recognizing a word with higher accuracy.;SOLUTION: The word recognizing device according to an embodiment comprises: a word dictionary for storing a plurality of words; analytical matching means for extracting a character candidate from a word image, recognizing the character candidate, and calculating a first evaluation value for each word stored in the word dictionary; overall matching means for calculating feature probability of a feature appearing, and calculating a second evaluation value on the basis of the word image, a word model for each word stored in the word dictionary, and the feature probability; correcting means for correcting the first evaluation value according to a predetermined first correction parameter, and correcting the second evaluation value according to a predetermined second correction parameter; and integrated evaluation value calculating means for calculating a third evaluation value by integrating the corrected first evaluation value and the corrected second evaluation value.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
