A biceps curl machine includes: a cable resistance element adapted to allow for a resistance path that is at least partly defined by a user; a user support adapted to move along a movement path as a biceps curl is performed; and a load including a set of plates that may be selectively coupled to the cable resistance element. A lateral raise machine includes: a cable resistance element adapted to allow for a resistance path that is at least partly defined by a user; a user support adapted to move along a movement path as a lateral raise is performed; and a load including a set of plates.
