The present invention provides compositions and methods for detecting, analyzing and identifying biomolecules used to diagnose patients at risk of dhf. more particularly, the invention features plasma biomarkers, including the ratio of complement factor d to complement factor h (fatord / factorh) and levels of one or more high molecular weight il2, desmoplazine and albumin, which are used to detect the risk of developing dhf.
