The present invention relates to a peroxidized lipid and silica oily pharmaceutical composition characterized in that it contains, as essential constituents, peroxidated lipids having a peroxidation rate of 5%. and 600 milliequivalents per kilo and silica dispersed in said peroxidized lipids at a concentration of greater than or equal to 0.5 wt% and less than 4 wt% relative to the weight of said composition. In this composition, the peroxidated lipids are preferably obtained by peroxidation of a natural vegetable oil and the silica is preferably colloidal silica. The present invention further relates to the use of the composition for the manufacture of a pharmaceutical composition for the treatment of xerostomia.
