The present invention provides an adaptor element for adapting profile of an electromagnetic field of a signal branch for signal mergers and pumping, particularly for cladding-pumped fiber lasers and amplifiers, comprising an inlet optical fiber (1), at least one intermediate optical fiber (4) and an outlet optical fiber (7), wherein the inlet optical fiber (1) has its one end narrowed and is coupled by this narrowed end with the adjacent narrowing intermediate optical fiber (4) through the mediation of a weld (5) between the inlet optical fiber and the intermediate optical fiber. The intermediate optical fiber (4) is coupled at its narrowed end with the outlet optical fiber (7) through the mediation of a weld (6) between the outlet optical fiber and the intermediate optical fiber. In case of presence more intermediate optical fibers (4), these intermediate optical fibers also narrow and are also coupled by welds (8) between the intermediate optical fibers. At the point of each weld between two optical fibers, there is maximized an overlap integral of field profiles of these fibers. The invention further provides a merger and an optical device comprising thereof . The adaptor element and the merger according to the present invention can be preferably used in various engineering fields, particularly in laser systems of high power for materials processing or for medicinal laser systems.
