TiO2 particles with rutile structure for use as UV absorber

摘要

The present invention relates to TiO2 particles with rutile structure prepared by calcining, of oval shape with a length in the range of 20 to 70 nm with length to width ratio of 1.2 to 1.4, having cavities with the size of 3 to 10 nm. The invention also relates to inorganic surface treatment of the TiO2 particles using SiOi2 and Ali2Oi3, in order to obtain extremely stable TiO2 particles with specific surface area in the range of 40 to 60 me2/g, excellent dispersion characteristic, which have high ability to absorb UV radiation below 400 nm as well as low dispersion in the spectrum of visible light. The particles of the present invention can be used s UV absorbers in cosmetics and semitransparent lacquers or plastics.
