The present invention relates to waste treating line containing predominantly plastics and cellulose, wherein the invention is characterized in that in the line, there are arranged one after other an inlet and preparation section (1), comprising an inlet tank (11) and a first feeder (12) of the waste material, a carbonization section (2), performed as a carbonization reactor (21) of tubular form, with external heating, adapted for heat treatment of the waste material without access of air and with maintenance of temperature in the range of 500 to 700 degC, a transfer section (3), formed by a transfer tank (31) and a second feeder (32) of predominantly solid carbonization product for a gasification section (4), the gasification section (4), performed as a gasification reactor (41) ) of tubular form, with external heating, adapted for heat treatment of the carbonization product without access of air and with maintenance of temperature in the range of 800 to 1000 degC, whereby at the outlet of the gasification reactor (41), there is arranged in the line a purification section (5), adapted as a two-stage separator with a first stage (51) adapted for washing a hot raw energy gas in light hydrocarbons and with a second stage (52) adapted for cooling to condensate said light hydrocarbons and water contained in the energy gas, wherein the outlet of the purified energy gas leaving the purification section (5) is the main production output of the line, while the discharge or discharges of a separated dross and sediment fraction of the washing process and excess of the light hydrocarbons from the two-stage separator are connected by one branch of a recycling line system back to the carbonization section (2) inlet. The invention also relates to a method of treating waste using the above-described line.
