The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition comprising iota- and/or kappa-carrageenan in combination with a neuraminidase inhibitor selected from the group consisting of zanamivir, oseltamivir, peramivir and laninamivir for the prophylactic or therapeutic treatment of a symptom, condition or disease caused by or associated with an infection by an influenza virus. The invention also relates to the use of said composition and to a method for the prophylactic or therapeutic treatment of said symptom, condition or disease as well as to a kit comprising iota- and/or kappa-carrageenan in combination with a neuraminidase inhibitor selected from the group consisting of zanamivir, oseltamivir, peramivir and laninamivir for the prophylactic or therapeutic treatment of a symptom, condition or disease caused by or associated with an infection by an influenza virus.
