PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF OXAZOLIDINONES, NOVEL OXAZOLIDINONES AND THE USE OF OXAZOLIDINONES

A process for the preparation of oxazolidinones of general formula I where R1 - R5 have the meaning given in the description; by reacting cyclic anhydrides of general formula II with carbonyl compounds of general formula III at temperatures between room temperature and approx. 150 °C. Oxazolidinones with R5 = -CH2- or -CH2-CH2- are valuable intermediate products of the α-selective synthesis of esters and amides of aspartic acid and glutamic acid.
