The earlier aircrafts which were designed and developed by Aircraft Research & Design Centre had employed the power supply unit, shorting links, Digital multimeter, Mechanical interface test unit which contains switches, sockets and LED indicators were used to check the following: 1. Temperature sensors 2. Hydraulic pressure sensors 3. Brake pedal sensors 4. Nose wheel steering pedal sensors 5. Wheel speed sensors 6. Servo valve coils 7. Shut off valve coils 8. Motorized valves 9. Solenoid valves 10. Pressure switches 11. Capacitance probes 12. Cockpit switches 13. Cockpit indicators 14. Electrical interfaces 15. Engine system interfaces 16. Secondary power system interfaces 17. Fire detection system interfaces 18. Undercarriage system interfaces 19. Starting system interfaces 20. Fuel system interfaces 21. Utility system Electronic unit With the use of old traditional/conventional test facility the time required to test the aircraft is more including logistics, man power etc. After gaining sufficient experience in testing and integration, USMS group - Electrical & Avionics Department undertook the design of PC based Intelligent electrical interface test unit to verify / capture the electrical parameters of mechanical systems within a stipulated period of time, less logistics and less man power. USMS-ITU is microprocessor based test unit, which uses software controlled switches / indicator status on the screen in order to control/issue the commands by the user during integration test o aerospace vehicle before and after integrating utility system electronic unit.
