ABSTRACT A mechanism for extracting construction grade sand from dredged material, consisting of a Surge Hopper to store the dredged material, a rinser screen for stratification of particles, a Hydrocyclone which when agitated throws out solid particles, dewatering screens to remove excess water content, a screw classifier to remove dirt and salt, a storage tank to collect the purified sand, an Ultra Filtration with Reverse Osmosis water treatment plant for recycling of waste water generated, a thickening unit and a de-moisturiser to separate sediments and a bagging unit for bagging purposes.
